Take a simple (cheap) wood box, dismantle it, scrap it and put it back together!

Minialbum doodelen

I made this cute minialbum during a workshop in Scraptacular (Leimuiden). The purpose was learning how to doodle without fear. I have now finished up with some pictures.

Mini album Barca

Last November we visited the museum of Barcelona Football Club. I am a big fan and made this album with the pictures we took. Each page has a line of the lyrics of the club.
I used a Maya Road album - it turned out that when it was finished it wouldn't close.... Drama! Because of the song thing, I couldn't just remove one page. The solution: cut the back of the album, which contained the rings, create wholes on the first and last pages, bind with loose rings.
I wouldn't have make it without the Crop-A-Dile (pink)...

3 months without a post - I guess this makes me a terrible blogger but not a bad scrapper! I have been doing lots of things, only I didn't show them yet: one mini-album for my father, two workshops (doodle album and transparent album), mini-album Barcelona Football Club and Halloween album.
I'll show everything in the coming days.....

I am specially proud of this lay out. I like the colour combination of the paper, the see and the blue eyes.

To make this layout I have matted the photo with light green cardstock and pasted on a full page dark green cardstock. This combines with the colour of the trousers in the picture. Then I've added the letters (Alphaletterz Brush Express Seaside from ProvoCraft) combining colors. Around the picture I used felt asymmetrical flowers and buttons; also a round tag with ribbon. At the bottom, stripped paper with shinny broad organza ribbon on top. Next to the picture a sticker with handwriting.

I made this supermini book as Make & Take in Scraptacular (Leimuiden, The Netherlands). It's supercute and a nice idea for a birthday present.

Workshop altered minibook

I made this altered minibook in Scraptacular. I love the hand writing rub-on on the front page and the little cute label.

The back of the book is made of green card stock folded like an accordion: that was not my favorite part of the workshop. I even had to repeat it because I glued it wrongly!

The first page contains 3 stamped labels, 2 of them distressed

The second page has 3 envelopes with "old" texts inside

The last one has 6 small labels, also distressed and stamped

Anna's wedding present: the Shrek album

Anna married Roger on 12th Mei. I made this album as present and gave it to her the day of the wedding in Vilassar de mar.

Make & Take Flower

The last weekend of March I made this cute make and take by Scraptacular (Leimuiden).

These are 5 flowers made of chipboard, covered with paper and put together with a ring. One of the papers is embossed with hearts using the Cuttlebug. The first 'page' is decorated with a super big flower using the De Grommet tool of Making Memories. A few ribbons make it complete!

Workshop: 10 ways to dress up your chipboard

On 28th March I attended the workshop 'Ten ways to dress up your chipboard' in Scraptacular (Leimuiden). It was fun and I made a nice mini-book which I keep as a collection of all techniques. We used paper, acrylics, ink, heat-embossing, crackle, stamps, buttons, ribbons, rub-ons, ....

Cuttlebug

I have recently bought the Cuttlebug die cutter and embosser. I love it! It's easy to use, the dies, the alphabets and the embossing folders are lovely and much cheaper than other brands and I can use the dies I already had from Quickutz. So, no more annoying squeezing and several dies can be done at the same time. I also tried to cut 2 sheets at the same time, which is handy for letters and it worked!

I've made this book where I write down things related to scrapbook. It has 4 tabs: techniques, ideas, tools and shops/webs.

This one is to collect words, sentences or quotes I can use for my pages.

And this is to keep ideas for future trips that I find in magazines, newspapers, ...

This project is still not finished. It is a good project to work on in between other projects because it is timeless. I put some pictures per page related to one letter. I am working now on the Holidays 2006 album, so the ABC book stopped at the letter J, but I will continue one day ....

After the success of Anna's album, Alba also wanted her own collection of pictures. She chose the photos from birth until recently (19 year old). I had much more tools and trendy papers to do his one!

My first big project

My first project was a surprise album for my niece Anna with photos from when she was born until she was 25, including the graduation and his lovely boyfriend, which she will marry very soon.
The process of collecting the photos and all materials I wanted to use was long but when I look back I am amazed I could do so much with so little resources and tools as I had back then. There is only one thing I regret: I didn't make it in time to show it to my sister (Anna's mother) who passed away the 12th March 2005; she had actively contributed with many little objects I used as embellishments.

This blog is about my scrapbook projects.
About five years ago I moved from Barcelona to The Netherlands and I discovered the hobby of scrapbooking. Since then my tools, projects and all kind of material has grown a lot and the hobby has become my addiction. Now I have a dedicated scrapbookroom.
In case you are wondering about the cat in the name of this blog, it has nothing to do with the pet but about the fact I am Catalan and I had the idea I might be one of the first Catalan scrapbookers since this hobby is totally unknown over there.
